This is a partial panorama of the Little Kiluea crater. Standing in the middle of an active caldera, looking into a steaming crater, gives you a sense of anxiety and, in some people we noticed, actual fear. The trail to this overlook is cracked with tiny fissures that hissed steam right at your feet. According to the volcanologists, there's not much chance of an eruption in this crater while so much activity goes on 10-15 miles down the side of the mountain.
