A full 360° panorama of our property (one whole acre), in the middle of the desert outside Belen, New Mexico. We stopped at Belen's Chamber of Commerce, and they showed a plot map with the location of our property. My parents bought this in the 1950s from an advertisement in Popular Mechanics. (Own an acre of land in New Mexico for $199.) There were promises of roads, power, water, etc., but as you can see, nothing is there except a few cattle, alive and dead. (We saw several of both.) Maybe someday, a rich mineral deposit will be found there and we could make a little money selling it (like $299).
