This is a full 360° panorama taken from the top of Sentinel Dome. Sentinel Dome is nearly as tall as Half Dome and affords a spectacular view of all Yosemite's natural wonders, which includes not only the Valley's well-known sights, but incredible views of the granite-topped Sierra mountain peaks deeper in the park. Sentinel Dome is barely more than a mile off Glacier Point Road and gets a lot of hiker traffic. The best time to visit is first thing in the morning before the crowds arrive. We had nearly an hour to enjoy our picnic and relax in the peace, solitude, and awesome scenery. From here you can take the trail east to Glacier Point (2 miles), or along the canyon wall west to Dewey Point, Taft Point, Inspiration Point, the top of Bridleveil Falls, then down to the parking area at the Wawona Tunnel entrance (around 13-15 miles).
